Professional Learning is at the heart of everything we do. We have a comprehensive journey of development for teachers and leaders across the Trust from initial teacher training through early leadership, enhanced pedagogy and into system leadership.

WAT Teacher and Leadership Professional Development Journey

Teachers are offered many opportunities to develop their craft including Pedagogy Champions across all of the schools in the Trust who develop and spread hotspots of great classroom practice through the use of collaborative enquiry and coaching. There are opportunities for leadership roles that develop teaching across the Trust, such as our Lead Practitioners who are also trained as SLEs.

Emerging from its role as a Training School, Windsor has built a reputation and a capability to organise and deliver a range of professional development not just for staff across the Windsor Academy Trust but also for schools across the region. Many of our professional learning opportunities such as the National Professional Qualifications for Middle and Senior Leaders are available for schools across the region to join. We develop all programmes based on the CPD standards, incorporating what the evidence tells us leads to effective professional learning. Our aim is to enhance the range and quality of collaborative CPD that can be run locally to have a positive impact on the quality of learning for children.
