350 Voices, One Stage, One Family: WAT a Choir 2025 Was a Day to Remember!

8th July 2025

What a truly wonderful day of music, friendship, and joy! On Wednesday 26th June, the amazing Walsall Arena played host to our WAT a Choir event, and it was a spectacular success that filled us all with pride.

Imagine a huge, professional stage with dazzling lights and incredible sound. Now, imagine 350 children from all 15 of our Windsor Academy Trust schools filling that stage with their beautiful voices. That’s exactly what happened!

From our youngest Year 1 pupils to our Year 13 students, every school choir had their moment to shine, performing their own special song for the rest of our school family. The performances were fantastic, with brilliant singing and some amazing dance moves. We saw everything from smart choir sashes to super fun 80s-style fluorescent ankle warmers!

The morning was filled with excitement as the choirs rehearsed. Then, at 12:30 pm, the doors opened for staff, headteachers, and guests who were treated to a truly magical show.

What made the day so special was the feeling of being one big family.

Dave Cotterill, our Head of Performance, said, “The whole day was an incredible experience, but what resonated the most with me was the feeling of being one family. Year 13 students cheering on Year 1, high-fiving each other before going on stage despite a difference of school, region or age. It was a special day.”

It was wonderful to see students from different schools supporting each other, proving that when we come together, we can create something truly beautiful. Events like WAT a Choir are all about unlocking the personal potential in every child, building their confidence, and making happy memories that will last a lifetime.

A huge well done to every single student who took part. You were all superstars!
