At Windsor Academy Trust, we have a strong tradition of evidence-informed practice (EIP) and developing our teachers through our Pedagogy Champion Practitioner Research programme, which is now in its ninth year.
There are several key areas to consider when planning for and implementing a practitioner research programme to support a culture of EIP. Studies show that solving issues of accessibility and relevance, employing collaboration, providing adequate time, all supported by a leadership culture that values and facilitates research-informed practice are the key ingredients for effective evidence-informed practice.
This article, which was produced for the Chartered College of Teaching's Impact Journal, explains how we have implemented our Practitioner Research programme with an eye to each of these aspects.'
