Exciting Plans Revealed for Windsor Apollo Academy in Walsall

We are delighted to share the first plans for Windsor Apollo Academy, a brand new secondary school in Walsall. We are working closely with the Department for Education and BAM Construction to bring this fantastic project to life on the old golf course site off Reedswood Lane.

This new school will allow us to continue our most important work: unlocking the academic and personal potential of every child in our local community.

What Will the School Offer? The building will provide a safe and inspiring space for students to learn and grow. The plans include:

  • 750 secondary school places for local children

  • 200 sixth form places to support older students

  • 24 Inclusion Base places for students with special educational needs

  • Amazing outdoor sports areas, including an all-weather pitch and a multi-use games area

A Space for the Whole Community We want Windsor Apollo Academy to be a welcoming hub for everyone. Facilities that the public can use will be placed right at the heart of the building. Local groups will also be able to use the sports facilities outside of school hours.

Safe and Green Travel Getting to school safely is a top priority. The school is in a great spot for walking, cycling, and taking the bus. We plan to run a special bus service for students coming from our two local feeder schools, Goldsmith Primary Academy and Rivers Primary Academy. To keep the roads safe and quiet for our neighbours, there will be no parent drop-off area on the school site.

Key Dates for the Diary

  • Late 2026: Building work is planned to start

  • September 2027: The school will open for Year 7 students in temporary classrooms

  • 2028: The permanent building will open
