Windsor Olympus Academy, a proud member of the Windsor Academy Trust family of schools, is celebrating a positive Ofsted report which recognises the strength of its attendance, behaviour and personal development.
Ofsted’s renewed inspection framework sets clear national standards for schools. Ofsted describes Expected as a high standard, confirming that a school is doing everything it should in that area. Strong is the next level up and recognises excellent, consistent work that is making a real difference to students.
Attendance and behaviour, and personal development and wellbeing, were both evaluated at the Strong standard. Achievement, inclusion, and leadership and governance were evaluated at the Expected standard. Safeguarding standards were met. Securing two Strong standards, alongside three Expected standards and safeguarding met, is a significant achievement for the young and growing school.
Inspectors described a welcoming school where students have a strong sense of belonging and are well known by staff. The report highlights calm lessons, respectful behaviour and a caring community in which students feel safe and know who to speak to when they need help.
Ofsted also praised the school’s thoughtfully designed personal development programme, rich opportunities beyond the classroom and highly effective careers provision. Students use their Aspire Sentences and Database of Dreams to connect their ambitions with future study and work.
The report gives the school clear next steps as it continues to grow. Leaders already have a plan in place to strengthen consistency in teaching, supported by colleagues from across Windsor Academy Trust.
Robert Sloan, Interim Headteacher at Windsor Olympus Academy, said: “We are enormously proud that Ofsted has recognised the strength of our attendance, behaviour and personal development, and the calm, caring culture our students and staff create every day. Windsor Olympus is a growing school serving a remarkable community, and this report captures the strong sense of belonging our families value. It also gives us a clear route forward, and we are determined to make teaching consistently strong so every student can achieve their ambitions.”
Dawn Haywood, Chief Executive Officer at Windsor Academy Trust, added: “My deepest thanks go to the Windsor Olympus team for the commitment they bring to this growing school. This report celebrates what makes this community special: a calm, caring and inclusive culture where strong attendance, positive behaviour and personal development help every student flourish. We are clear on where we need greater consistency, and supported by our wider family of schools, we remain fully focused on that work. Together with our staff, students and parents, we are proud to be building a school that truly serves its community.”
