Windsor Academy Trust at MATPN North 2025: Driving Excellence in Education

6th March 2025

The Multi-Academy Trust Partnership Network (MATPN) North 2025 conference brought together trust leaders and education professionals from across the country to share insights, best practices, and strategies for the future of multi-academy trusts (MATs). Held at the Hilton Deansgate in Manchester on 4-5 March 2025, this influential event provided a platform for discussions on leadership, data-driven decision-making, sustainability, and communication within the education sector.

As a trust committed to unlocking academic and personal potential, Windsor Academy Trust was proud to contribute to these vital conversations. On day two of the conference, our Director of Primary, Leanne Bridgwood, took part in a thought-provoking panel discussion on creating a culture of belonging, while our Director of Communications, Claire Gething, delivered an insightful presentation on a successful civic leadership strategy.

Creating a Culture of Belonging

Leanne Bridgwood, our Director of Primary, shared her expertise in a panel discussion focused on fostering a culture of belonging within MATs. She highlighted the importance of inclusivity, student and staff well-being, and the role of strong leadership in building a supportive and welcoming school environment. Leanne’s insights reinforced the need for trust-wide initiatives that support both pupils and staff, ensuring that everyone thrives and has a sense of belonging. She also discussed strategies

to meet the diverse needs of individuals, improve attendance, and reduce absenteeism, ultimately fostering a positive and engaging school culture.

A Successful Civic Leadership Strategy

Our Director of Communications, Claire Gething, took to the stage to deliver a compelling presentation on civic leadership within MATs. She explored a successful model of civic leadership built on three key pillars: partnership work with the NHS, the creation of vibrant community hubs, and the establishment of a strong community foundation. Claire demonstrated how aligning educational efforts with the government’s initiative for collaboration has transformed relationships, fostered local engagement, and positioned schools as central to thriving, interconnected communities. By sharing Windsor Academy Trust’s approach to cross-sector collaboration, she highlighted the positive impact of meaningful partnerships in driving social value and strengthening community ties.

A Commitment to Excellence

Windsor Academy Trust’s participation in MATPN North 2025 reflects our commitment to shaping the future of education. By engaging in these crucial discussions, we continue to strengthen our approach to leadership, teaching, and communication – ensuring that we provide the very best for our students, staff, and communities.

We are proud to be part of a network of forward-thinking MATs dedicated to making a difference in education. As we take inspiration from the discussions at MATPN North, we look forward to implementing new ideas and continuing our journey towards excellence.
