Sir Thomas Boughey Academy Celebrates Success in Rigorous New Ofsted Inspection

9th July 2026

Sir Thomas Boughey Academy, a proud member of the Windsor Academy Trust family, is celebrating a highly positive Ofsted report following its recent inspection.

Inspected under Ofsted’s tough new ‘School Report Card’ framework, the academy successfully met the demanding national benchmarks to secure the Expected standard across key areas including:

  • Attendance and behaviour

  • Curriculum and teaching

  • Inclusion

  • Leadership and governance

  • Personal development and wellbeing

The school also successfully met all safeguarding standards, ensuring a positive and open culture where students are kept safe.

Achieving the Expected standard under this new framework is a fantastic milestone that shows a school is delivering a strong quality of education and care.

Key highlights from the School Report Card include:

  • A Culture of Care: Inspectors praised the warm environment, noting that "pupils are known and supported by staff, creating a clear sense of belonging at this inclusive and nurturing school".

  • Student Wellbeing: The report highlighted that "pupils feel safe and happy in school and now attend more regularly".

  • Strong Values: The inspection team saw first-hand how well students behave and engage, commenting that "pupils embody the schools' values of excellence, kindness and respect".

  • Beyond the Classroom: Inspectors praised the 'Boughey Extra' programme, which provides "numerous opportunities including volleyball, chess, Show Choir, mindfulness and cooking" to help students build confidence and new skills.

Lisa Shoreman, Headteacher at Sir Thomas Boughey Academy, said:

"We are so proud of this report. The new Ofsted framework is very demanding, and to achieve the Expected standard across these areas is a brilliant recognition of our hardworking staff and wonderful students. To hear inspectors say our students feel safe, happy, and have a clear sense of belonging means the world to us."

Dawn Haywood, CEO of Windsor Academy Trust, added:

"It is brilliant to see Ofsted formally recognise the rapid improvements taking place across Sir Thomas Boughey Academy, alongside the school’s inclusive and ambitious culture."
