Students across the Windsor Academy Trust family celebrate GCSE results

After much hard work studying and preparing, students across Windsor Academy Trust’s (WAT) secondary schools are celebrating receiving their GCSE results today after another strong set of results for schools across the WAT family.

Students are now looking forward to progressing onto their chosen further education institutions, with many remaining at the trust’s Aspire Sixth Form in South Staffordshire and Windsor High School and Sixth Form in Halesowen to study for A Levels and vocational qualifications.

Dawn Haywood, Chief Executive Officer at Windsor Academy Trust, said: "I am delighted to see students from across the Windsor Academy Trust family achieve such strong results in their GCSEs today. I couldn’t be prouder of our students and our staff who have worked so hard for these successes."

Here are some of the standout achievements from across our schools:

Cheslyn Hay Academy:

Amy Cooper achieved 9 grades at 7 or above: 2 grade 9s in Art and Computer Science, a combined Science grade of 9-8, 3 grade 8s in Maths, Geography and French and 2 grade 7s in English Language and Literature
Lucy Henry achieved 9 grades at 7 or above: 3 grade 9s in English Language and Combined Science, 4 grade 8s in Art, Drama, Geography and Mathematics and 2 grade 7s in English Literature and French
Eddie Brereton achieved 9 grades at grade 6 or above: 4 grade 9s in Computer Science, Mathematics and a 9-9 in Combined Science, 2 grade 8s in Design & Technology and English Language, 2 grade 7s in English Literature and Geography, and a grade 6 in French.

Clayton Hall Academy:

Giacomo Roberts who received seven Grade 9s and 3 Grade 8s.
Vanessa Oghuvwu who received five Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s and a Grade 6
Jake Harford who received three Grade 9s, 5 Grade 8s and a Grade 6

Great Wyrley Academy:

Jessica Chen received 3 grade 9’s including Maths and English and 4 grade 8’s and 2 Distinctions
Ahmed Abdelhadi who received a grade 9 in English and and a grade 8 in Spanish

Kingswinford Academy:

Priya Tamber achieved eight Grade 9s and one Grade 8
Alice Moth achieved six Grade 9s, one Grade 8, one Grade 6 and a Distinction*
Mia Williams achieved six Grade 9s, two Grade 8s and a Distinction*
Arpita Nair achieved four Grade 9s and five Grade 8s

Newcastle Academy:

Jessica Shears received 9 in English Language; 8 in French, Geography and Science; 7 in English Literature and 6 in Art, Mathematics and Music, with a Distinction* in Creative iMedia.
Henry Prosser received 8 in Geography; 7 in Science; 6 in English Literature, History and Mathematics, with a Distinction* in Sport

Sir Thomas Boughey Academy:

Maddy Symonds exceeded her target grades in every subject, achieving an outstanding Level 2 Distinction* in Engineering, a Level 2 Distinction in Performing Arts, and grade 8s in six additional GCSE subjects.
Grace Bailey delivered an exceptional performance in Science to achieve grades 9 and 8, whilst also achieving a grade 8 in Art, Craft and Design. Combined with top grades in Hospitality and Performing Arts, Grace achieved an impressive average grade of 7 across all qualifications.
Taran Gault outperformed his target grades in nine subjects, including a grade 8 in English Language, a Level 2 Distinction in Performing Arts, and multiple grade 7s across a range of subjects.
Thomas Cotterill achieved remarkable results, securing an average of two grades above their target across nine qualifications.
