In March, our Windsor Academy Trust primary schools were bursting with talent as pupils took centre stage for the exciting WAT a West End Star! project. This incredible opportunity brought the magic of musical theatre to life, giving our young stars the chance to sing, dance, and act alongside professional West End performers.
Led by Jake Sharp (Dewey Finn in the West End’s School of Rock) and his brother Cameron Sharp (Theo), along with Mr Cotterill - Head of Performing Arts at Windsor Academy Trust , the workshops offered a high-energy, fun-filled introduction to musical theatre. The sessions focused on key performance skills—including scene work, singing, and choreography—all building towards a final group number: Stick It to the Man.
Over three action-packed days, the team visited all seven of our primary schools:
Greenways Primary Academy
Milton Primary Academy
Manor Way Primary Academy
Tenterfields Primary Academy
Colley Lane Primary Academy
Rivers Primary Academy
Goldsmith Primary Academy
From start to finish, students threw themselves into every activity with enthusiasm, creativity, and confidence. Dressed in school uniform but kitted out with trainers, our pupils jumped, danced, and belted out tunes like true West End stars!
Each session was filmed to create a final montage video—a brilliant keepsake to celebrate the joy, teamwork, and talent on display across the WAT Family.
A huge thank you goes to all staff, students, and families for supporting this unforgettable experience. With projects like WAT a West End Star!, we continue to provide opportunities that unlock our children’s academic and personal potential—on and off the stage.
