Access remote learning and working guidance here
The Leadership Learning Club is designed to support aspiring middle leaders and early middle leaders. You will learn about leadership theory with a practical twist!
You will be introduced to the competencies that form the foundation for the National Professional Qualification for Middle Leaders (NPQML) and it can prepare you for the new NPQs that will become available in Autumn 2021.
Over the course of this school year, you will explore leadership styles and models and develop personal self-awareness in order to reflect on your own leadership approach in real work situations. You will share your journey with others at a similar stage of development thereby learning about other school contexts and a range of ways of responding to different situations.
There will be a focus on Leadership through change; something we are all grappling with, and you will consider how versatility and collaboration, alongside clear goals, positive communication and thorough planning, can guide you through the complexity of our current context.
You will consider the importance of communication, understanding the perspectives of others and how these can help you to handle difficult conversations for positive outcomes.
To enhance the programme for delivery in the "new normal" of 2020-2021 we have reimagined and redesigned the delivery to keep you all safe, minimising face to face risks and negating the need for travel around the area. All while still giving you a reflective and collaborative experience.
Jan was a school leader for fifteen years, as a Headteacher and Learning Community Director, and an Associate for National College of School Leadership (NCSL). She is passionate about facilitating the growth and development of colleagues at all levels.
Jan is the architect of, and Lead Facilitator for, WAT leadership programmes. She has a coaching and mentoring International accreditation is an accredited trainer on transformational leadership (Ken Blanchard Company) and leads her own coaching organisation, Leadership Edge.
Due to Covid-19, we have redesigned the programme to be delivered as a virtual series that incorporates and thinkpiece and video on the topic, to stimulate your thinking and practice.
You will then join colleagues every half term in a live Zoom conversation to explore the leadership approaches in more depth.
