This Aspiring Middle Leaders course will prepare you for confidently applying for, and commencing, middle leadership. It provides ideal preparation for the National Professional Qualification in Middle Leadership (NPQML).
Sessions are designed to help you understand yourself as a leader of the future, whatever your phase of education, and to increase your capacity in a number of the essential competencies. You will be introduced to the competencies that form the foundation for the NPQML and the course is specifically designed to meet individual and group requirements.
The course will grow your individual skills and increase your capacity for high quality middle leadership. You will explore leadership models to look at how to develop successful relationships, understand and communicate with colleagues and motivate yourself and others. Practical approaches will be incorporated throughout to give you the confidence to step up into new roles.
You will begin using some of your new skills through the practitioner-led research project. This is a key component of the course that helps you to be a more reflective practitioner, put your learning into practice in school and also develop your presentation skills.
Jan was a school leader for fifteen years, as a Headteacher and Learning Community Director, and an Associate for National College of School Leadership (NCSL). She is passionate about facilitating the growth and development of colleagues at all levels.
Jan is the architect of, and Lead Facilitator for, WAT leadership programmes. She has a coaching and mentoring International accreditation is an accredited trainer on transformational leadership (Ken Blanchard Company) and leads her own coaching organisation, Leadership Edge.
Due to Covid-19, we are planning a small cohort where you will be able to safely socially distance while still maintaining the impact of face to face sessions with colleagues at the same career stage.
Sessions will be delivered in our training centre at our main office in Halesowen.
