Thinking about becoming a teacher?

Complete a teaching internship to gain hands-on experience in a school and discover if teaching is for you.

A teaching internship allows you to spend three weeks in a school and experience what teaching is really like. You'll work alongside other teachers in the classroom, gain new skills and get paid £300 per week. Internships take place during June and July.

Gain real experience of teaching and develop your skills

There are lots of benefits to an internship. You will:

  • gain classroom experience
  • learn from shadowing experienced teachers
  • receive one-to-one guidance from experts in their field
  • get support during the next stage of your teacher training application
  • have a guaranteed school direct ITE interview

Who can apply?

Student teaching internships are available to anyone currently studying for a degree related to computing, maths or physics.

We'd love to hear from you if you're an undergraduate studying science, technology, engineering or maths and interested in teaching computing, maths or physics in a secondary school.
