Windsor High School and Sixth Form is the founding school in the WAT family. Having been an 11-16 school since 1983 the school successfully extended its age range opening a Sixth Form in 2010. Currently the school has just under 1700 students with around 250 in the Sixth Form itself. With a history of being a Specialist Sports College, Windsor became the first Converter Academy in Dudley being invited by the government to do so in light of its high performance and outstanding Ofsted. Windsor High School and Sixth form was the highest performing (non-selective) secondary school in Dudley in 2016 and 2017 for Progress 8.
Windsor High School and Sixth form are committed to delivering the very best education for all of their students. This can be seen in their school motto “Excellence for All", and is applied equally to their twin objectives of academic success and extra-curricular and enrichment provision.
Windsor’s moral purpose is to unlock students’ academic and personal potential. They strive for students to have a love of learning, be successful learners and gain the knowledge, skills and attributes to be successful in the world of work. Equally they endeavour for the students to be good human beings, with a sense of purpose and character enabling them to flourish in life. They aim to nurture a culture of respect and responsibility for oneself and for others.
