Aspiring Middle Leaders
Course overview
This course is designed to support aspiring middle leaders and early middle leaders. You will learn about leadership theory with a practical twist!
You will be introduced to a number of core leadership competencies and it will help to prepare you for the new NPQs that are now available.
Throughout the duration of the course, you will explore leadership styles and models and develop personal self-awareness in order to reflect on your own leadership approach in real work situations.
There will be a focus on effective leadership of a team and about leadership through change; something we are all grappling with, and you will consider how to plan for and deliver effective implementation and about building an effective school culture. You will share your journey with others at a similar stage of development thereby learning about other school contexts and a range of ways of responding to different situations.
The course takes a blended learning approach, through a mix of both face-to-face and online sessions.

Session 2: Monday 12th December 2022 - virtual
Session 3: Monday 16th January 2023 - face to face, WAT Central
Session 4: Monday 6th February 2023 - virtual
Session 5: Monday 27th February 2023 - face to face, WAT Central
Session 6: Monday 27th March 2023 - virtual
Session 7: Monday 24th April 2023 - face to face, WAT Central
Presentation dates: Monday 26 June and Monday 3rd July - face to face, WAT North or WAT Central (TBC)
All sessions take place 4.00-5.30pm unless otherwise stated.

Terms and conditions
- No charge will be made if your booking is cancelled two weeks before the event.
- No charge will be made for replacement delegates.
- A 50% charge will be made for cancellations between one and two weeks.
- If a cancellation is made within one week of the event a 100% charge will be made.
The organisers reserve the right to make reasonable modifications to the programme without prior notice and you would receive 5 days notice if the event were to be cancelled by the organisers. The organisers take no liability for any additional costs delegates incur in attending CPD programmes.
Joining instructions and an invoice will be forwarded to you in the week prior to the event and we kindly request payment within 30 days.
