We are delighted to share with you two exciting announcements that will help our family of schools make an even bigger difference in the communities we serve.
Big Move 3 of our strategy - Civic Leadership - recognises that schools and students thrive best when communities do. Part of our role as a family of schools is to deliver civic impact and support the local communities where our schools are located. That is why we are launching the Windsor Academy Trust Community Foundation.
The Foundation, which will be managed on our behalf by Heart of England Community Foundation, will enable us to support those in our communities who need it the most through trust-wide fundraising initiatives. It will prioritise organisations, causes and projects that work in innovative ways to create lasting change for young people and their families in the communities our schools serve.
Through the Foundation, we hope to make the biggest impact we can through collective fundraising endeavours and we look forward to sharing more details over the coming months.
WAT a Run is our first trust-wide fundraising event for the Windsor Academy Trust Community Foundation, taking place on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th May.
Staff and students will take part in a two-day sponsored run - from Halesowen Athletics Club to each of our schools and back again - running as many kilometres as they can to contribute towards an overall goal of 2,000km.
Participants can choose to run any distance from 1km to the full 90km route as part of the main run between our schools. We’re also holding a 5km ‘fun run’ at Halesowen Athletics Club at the end of the event on Sunday 14th May for our younger children.
